This is the only course of its kind in Ireland, offering a deep specialization in agricultural biotechnology. The curriculum includes practical, hands-on experience, such as an A.I. (Artificial Insemination) technician course.
You will be taught by experienced researchers and professionals from the agricultural and biotechnology industries.
This MSc takes an integrative approach, focusing on the synthesis of knowledge and practice from specialist areas within the data analytics and computing domains.
Course Eligibility
The standard minimum entry requirement is a Honours Degree or an international equivalent in the area of Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Food Science or a related area.
Career Prospects
Graduates of this program have a wide range of career opportunities like prestigious roles in research institutions like Teagasc, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, or third-level institutions.
You shall be able to secure positions as auditors or inspectors in the agri-food sector, or in Quality Management/Quality Assurance roles.
If you want to carve out a career in research, you could work as laboratory analysts or food product development scientists.
This MSc provides a pathway for further studies, with graduates able to progress to research programs, Ph.D. at DkIT and other research centers, such as the Centre for Freshwater and Environmental Studies.
