University of Sheffield announces Date for Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships Application Forms

At the end of 2021, the University of Sheffield has announced new dates for postgraduate-taught merit scholarships. The aspiring students who wish to study here can submit new applications within the specific deadline. This time, Sheffield is offering 125 Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships to the eligible and talented students who wish to pursue further studies at the University of Sheffield. The scholarship is with relevance to 25% of the original tuition fee. It is available for international students who choose to pursue a master’s at Sheffield and fulfill the scholarship program’s eligibility criteria. 

The scholarship will only be adjusted with the tuition fees, and there will be no cash distribution amongst the students. In addition, the university has mentioned important announcements such as the date and eligibility criteria over their official website so that students can cross-check from there. Students who wish to apply for the scholarship can start doing so from mid-November and send the complete application form by May 16, 2022, at 1 pm (UK Time). Results will be announced on June 13, 2022, by 4 pm (UK time) over the university’s official website. 

Although, students need to remember a few things before applying for the scholarship, which includes having a solid academic profile and a clear rationale for the course student wishes to pursue at the University of Sheffield. The entire perspective of the candidate, along with their goals and ambitions on why one wishes to study this course at Sheffield, should be mentioned in the application with a clear statement so that one gets portrayed as a strong applicant in front of the senior staff members. In case if a student enrolls for a 2 Year Postgraduate Taught Course then the scholarship would be provided to them in the second year on fulfilling the eligibility criteria and completion of the first year of the course. However, the scholarship would get canceled if the student changes the course and pursues another programme. 

The University of Sheffield provides this scholarship for a maximum of 2 Full-Time Academic years, which excludes industrial or abroad years of education. However, the scholarship will get divided into pro-rata for a maximum of four years for the students who pursue part-time courses here. All the selected applicants also need to pay a specific amount of tuition fee by the deadline for the commencement of the scholarship.
